Well, here’s definitive proof that a large organization can have a mind: NATO has clearly lost one. NATO was supposed to “defend” Europe against the Soviet Union. A whole lot of people believed that, at least until the Soviet Union ended. Then NATO was supposed to “defend” Europe against Iran. I think about 8 people believed that, not counting U.S. senators. But then Iran made a deal for the toughest inspections of its non-existent nuclear weapons program in the history of the world.
