Former U.S. Diplomat: Send U.S. Ground Troops to Ukraine

‘A former U.S. diplomat and member of the Council on Foreign Relations, James Jeffrey, is calling for U.S. ground troops to be injected into the brewing civil war in Ukraine. Jeffery is a visiting fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, a beltway think tank controlled by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and associated with the neocon wing of the Republican Party.

“The best way to send Putin a tough message and possibly deflect a Russian campaign against more vulnerable NATO states is to back up our commitment to the sanctity of NATO territory with ground troops, the only military deployment that can make such commitments unequivocal,” Jeffrey writes for The Washington Post, an establishment newspaper often used by neocons to push pro-war propaganda and the concept of American exceptionalism, the philosophical basis for imperialism and warmongering.’

‘Up to 11 people are believed dead after airborne Ukrainian troops seized an airport in the country’s rebellious east today in the first sign that a promised ‘anti-terror operation’ had begun against pro-Russian separatists.

It comes as reports suggest one fighter plane was shot down today near the city of Kramatorsk, Donetsk Oblast.’

Duplicitous Human Rights Misinformation on Ukraine

‘A previous article discussed UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay. It discussed her duplicitous anti-Assad report. It wasn’t her first one. It won’t be her last

She’s a reliable imperial tool. She buries truth. She lies for power. Her credibility long ago was lost. Not a shred of it remains.

She never had any in the first place. It launched her career earlier. It sustained it.

Her new report supports illegitimate putschist fascists. It’s titled “Misinformation, propaganda and incitement to hatred need to be urgently countered.”

During months of Maidan protests, Berkut special police showed remarkable restraint. Pillay lied claiming otherwise.

They used “excessive force,” she said. So did other security elements, she added. Doing so “led to the radicalisation of the protest movement,” she claimed.’

US Pays Half of Ukraine's Two Billion Dollar Debt Owed to Russia's Gazprom

‘With Ukraine no longer paying for Russian gaz, and with Gazprom making it clear Kiev has to a) first pay the overdue $2+ billion in invoice and then b) prepay some $5 billion in gas until the end of the year of Europe gets it, it was only a matter of time before the US Treasury stepped in and paid off part or all of Gazprom’s demands. That time is now, when moments ago Jack Lew announced a $1 billion loan guarantee for Ukraine – very much the same way that the US provided billions in loan guarantees for the now long overthrown Mursi regime in Egypt.’
