‘At least 25 people have died in fresh clashes between Ukrainian police and anti-government protesters, according to reports, raising the death toll from the ongoing violence to over 50.

The clashes broke out on Thursday when armed protesters stormed police barricades in the capital Kiev.

Anti-government protesters have seized back control of Kiev’s Independence Square, where thousands of demonstrators remain camped out.

If the reports were confirmed, the latest deaths would bring the death toll to more than 50 people since the beginning of the week, when the clashes erupted after the deadline set by security authorities to end the protests expired.’
