New York (GPA) – In the span of fewer than four months, Recep Erdogan has brought out the rage of his violent AKP fanatics on US citizens again.

After a brutal attack outside the Turkish embassy in Washington DC this May, more pro-Erdogan violence has broken out; this time as the Turkish President made a speech in New York.

Erdogan was giving a speech Marriott Marquis hotel in Times Square. Some time into the speech an audience member apparently screamed “terrorist” at the Islamic State funding, vote-rigging, and opposition jailing president.

Men in black suits then approached the protesters and removed from the hall. At this time it is unclear whether those men were US secret service agents, security contractors or Erdogan’s personal security detail.

To their credit – this time – it wasn’t the men in suits beating the protesters, but they did allow several audience members to land some solid blows on them as they were dragged out. Some protesters were apparently carrying flags of several different organizations such as the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), and it’s all-female counterpart, the YPJ.

Video from both attendees and media networks shows the incident, which again, is the second time this has happened in four months.

After the pause caused by the protesters ended, Erdogan apologized and tried to get back on track saying “My dear friends, I have a request to you. Let’s not give this beautiful gathering to a few impertinent hall terrorists.”

As previously stated, this already happened earlier this year, in May when Erdogan was in Washington to meet US president Donald Trump. This was the now infamous incident where Erdogan’s personal security did commit the violence on protesters, as Erdogan watched in at least tacit approval.

While it’s unclear what will happen as a result of this week’s violence, we do know that 19 people were charged for assaults that took place in the May incident. Of those 19 charged, 15 are members of the Turkish government’s security apparatus and are unlikely to be sent to the US to face charges.

The US has also been relatively lax in applying any pressure for Erdogan to produce any of these members of his security detail. Erdogan may be a confirmed compulsive liar. However, he also stated in an interview with PBS earlier this week: “President Trump called me about a week ago about this issue,” and “he said that he was sorry and he told me that he was going to follow up on this issue when we come to the United States within the framework of an official visit.”
