‘Many victims of Jimmy Savile were ignored or even laughed at when they told friends and relatives they had been sexually abused, a report revealed today.


Some were told they were ‘lucky someone like Savile had paid them attention’, according to findings compiled by the NSPCC.


And other victims – some aged as young as eight at the time of the DJ’s ‘sickening crimes’ – never told anyone about their suffering because they assumed they would never be believed.


Many of the 26 men and women interviewed for the report have still not confided in family or friends about their experiences, the charity said.’

Harriet Harman rejects allegations of 1970s link to paedophile campaign



‘Harriet Harman has attacked the Daily Mail for launching a “politically-motivated smear campaign” against her and her husband, Jack Dromey, over claims they were linked to a paedophile campaign in the 1970s.


The Labour deputy leader condemned the “horrific allegations” and issued a point-by-point rebuttal on Monday, after the newspaper tried to link the couple and former Labour health secretary Patricia Hewitt to the now defunct Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE).


She said the newspaper was trying to make her “guilty by way of association”, while Dromey said the allegations were “beneath contempt”, especially as he had been at the “forefront of repeated public condemnations of the Paedophile Information Exchange and their despicable views”.’

But they still won't say sorry: Labour's Harman and Dromey finally break their silence over links to paedophile group


‘Labour’s deputy leader Harriet Harman finally broke her silence yesterday over her links with a paedophile group.


Miss Harman, her MP husband Jack Dromey, and former Health Secretary Patricia Hewitt have been under mounting pressure to explain the connections to the Paedophile Information Exchange while holding key roles in the National Council for Civil Liberties.


The pressure group granted ‘affiliate’ status to PIE, a notorious group of predatory paedophiles.’
