Crappiest Flight Ever: Passenger “Smearing Feces Everywhere” Causes United Airlines Flight Diversion

In 2017, United Airlines landed in the news for several troubling events, including the Dragging and Dropping of Dr. David Dao, scorpions on one of their planes, an embarrassing Twitter promotion attempt, and an engine fire.

Five days into 2018, and the airline is in the news already.

United Airlines flight 895 from Chicago to Hong Kong had to be redirected to Anchorage Thursday due to a “passenger smearing feces everywhere”, according to Ted Stevens International Airport Police.

Airport Police say the adult male smeared the excrement within a couple of bathrooms, took off his shirt and attempted to stuff it in the toilet. He was cooperative with the flight crew and was seated when the flight landed in Anchorage.

The flight landed in Anchorage about 6:30 p.m. and was met by local and federal law enforcement. The man, who was in his seat and reportedly cooperative, was removed from the plane and taken to Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage for a psychological evaluation. He was not charged, reports NBC.

The plane was held for maintenance (gee, we sure hope so).

United Airlines issued a brief statement today:

“United flight 895, traveling from Chicago to Hong Kong, diverted to Anchorage last night due to a disruptive passenger. We provided hotel accommodations for our customers and are working to get them to their destinations as quickly as possible.”

The story is already the butt (sorry, had to) of jokes on Twitter…
