‘Police in the French capital Paris have clashed with demonstrators participating in a rally against Israeli offensive in the besieged Gaza Strip.

On Sunday, the French police fired teargas to disperse demonstrators throwing projectiles at police cordons in Bastille Square. The demonstrators were carrying a banner, reading, “Total Support for the Struggle of the Palestinian People”.

“I came to say no to this massacre,” AFP quoted Amid Hamadouch, 30, at the Paris protest as saying.

Thousands of people attended a similar rally in the French city of Lille.’
