When you drain the swamp, get ready for all sorts of strange creatures to appear. But watch out—some come out with teeth bared and claws extended, spitting and fighting while others, just as morbid, cower and slink away, looking for cover.

See how they scurry! See how they run!

Every day means a new revelation in the press and heinous deeds exposed. How the world has changed–wickedness in high places no longer hidden but now welcome fodder for jokes on daytime and nighttime talk shows.

But who exhibits shame? Not the perpetrators, who fight back with lies, accusations and law suits aimed at defaming their accusers. Who is shocked? Not the watching public, already jaded and conditioned by Hollywood to accept the duplicity and deviant sexual escapades of big-name offenders.

An influential producer named as a molester and sexual predator? A politician involved in cases of child trafficking? So what else is new! No shock when a private foundation is enriched by donations from foreign countries in a pay-for-play scheme–it’s just business as usual in slimy Swamptown.

Forty-something years ago, matters that are common in headlines today—sexual promiscuity, pornography, militant feminism, gay marriage, near-term abortion and human trafficking–were rarely spoken of, much less flaunted on TV or social media. Transgenderism was basically unheard of, and public nudity was a criminal act.

In fact, when David Wilkerson penned The Vision in 1973 warning about a coming epidemic of sexual assaults on children, the prophecy was hardly believable. He predicted a time when violence would be rampant, and angry mobs of men would erupt to molest innocent youth and children.

“I have seen things in my vision that make me fear for the future of our children,” Wilkerson said. “I speak of wild, roving mobs assaulting people and sodomizing children in parks, on the streets, and other public places.

“The attacks may not be publicized, but those in law enforcement circles will know the full extent of what is happening.”

Is this what is coming for America? As stormy protests around the country get out of hand and acts of violence become commonplace, will we even spare a thought for such reprehensible acts, or will they just be another headline in the daily news?

So much for 2008 and the transformation of America! By then, the change had already been in process since the Sixties with sexualized TV shows, X-rated movies and vicious rock and rap with dirty lyrics helping the country drift from its family-friendly roots to become a world downright dangerous for raising children.

So what can we say about America’s current moral condition? How far do you have to push God and ignore his mandates to become like brutish swamp creatures—in other words, to be given over to a depraved, animalistic mind?

“For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools….” Romans 1:21

“Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts…Since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, He gave them up to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done.” Romans 1:24, 28
