The man who stabbed one person to death and injured several others at the Place de l’Opera in central Paris was of Chechen origin and aged around 20, reports in French media said. The assailant was neutralized by police.
Police found no documentation on the attacker, but investigators identified him by his fingerprints, Europe1 radio station reported on Sunday.

The assailant was a Russian born in Chechnya in 1997, RTL radio network said, adding that his mother and father had been taken into custody for questioning.
