Facebook has suspended 200 apps from its platform for potentially misusing users’ private data. Thousands more are being investigated as the company attempts to clean up its privacy act post-Cambridge Analytica. In a blog post on Monday, Facebook’s VP of product partnerships, Ime Archibong, said that thousands of apps have already been investigated and 200 suspended, pending a more detailed review into whether they actually did misuse data. As the company finds evidence of data breaches, users can log in to a help page to see if their own data was mishandled. According to Facebook, the data breaches in question took place before the site’s platform policies were changed in 2014.
