Depending on your political leanings, a recent interview with Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) either proved that Donald Trump overreacted to reports of the FBI spying on his campaign — or confirmed that the ‘deep state’ is out to get him.
In an interview with CBS, Gowdy dismissed Trump’s anger about the FBI planting informants in his 2016 presidential campaign and said the FBI had an “obligation” to look into any leads it has about foreign governments (in this case Russia) allegedly trying to influence an American election campaign.
Gowdy’s comments immediately drew praise from liberal journalists, commentators, political figures and celebrities, who were quick to announce that it proves‘spygate’ (as the scandal has been dubbed by Trump) is all a big nothingburger and that the FBI had good reason to spy on then-candidate Trump.
We’re starting to see some cracks in the dam. Shepard Smith & Judge Napolitano at Fox, Trey Gowdy & a handful of GOP electeds are starting to tell the truth. We’re a ways off, but if we keep hammering away, TRUTH will burst that dam.

Everybody in the GOP knows Trump is guilty as hell. They're just (rightly) terrified of the consequences of their getting in bed with a traitorous madman. Gowdy and the Napster called bullshit on "Spygate" -- merely saying what they all know.https://t.co/YUWsdPshU9

“I am even more convinced that the FBI did exactly what my fellow citizens would want them to do when they got the information they got."
Oh my. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I do believe GOPer Trey Gowdy may have squashed trump’s deranged spygate lie for good.
