Consider the columns of young men marching into Europe from Syria. Or the people thrown against the Gazan border in a foolish exercise this spring. (Dozens died.) Or the effort in Mexico to march a column of “refugees” through the country to the border to create a giant photo-op. (The effort failed spectacularly.) The tactic Mr. Obrador suggests is not a unique one.

The idea is to overwhelm the (in this case the US) system and then to blast through a front.

We, as we say all the time, are very pro-immigration. But what Sr. Obrador, a classic lefty Latin crony capitalist if there ever was one (though, surprise, he’s selling himself as an enemy of crony capitalism this go ’round), is suggesting here is an overt hostile act. But has just the bare patina of “humanitarianism”. Enough for the soft heads and the fellow travelers.

Mexican presidential candidate Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) called for mass immigration to the United States during a speech Thursday, declaring it a “human right” for all North Americans.

“And soon, very soon — after the victory of our movement — we will defend all the migrants in the American continent and all the migrants in the world,” Obrador said, adding that immigrants “must leave their towns and find a life in the United States.”

He then declared it as “a human right we will defend,” eluniversal.com reports.

Really? How about making Mexico a place more worth staying in? There’s an idea.

One other interesting note. Obrador once hired Rudy Guiliani as a crime consultant when Obrador was the mayor of La Ciudad Mexico.
