Singer and actress Demi Lovato was rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles, California, for an apparent heroin overdose, TMZ reported, citing unnamed law enforcement sources. Lovato has struggled with substance abuse in the past.

Lovato, the 25-year-old award-winning pop artist, was found at her Hollywood Hills home just before noon local time on Tuesday (2000 GMT) and rushed to a hospital suffering “what appears to be a heroin overdose,”TMZ said.

She had spoken out publicly about her addiction to alcohol, cocaine and opioids. Last month, however, Lovato revealed she had relapsed after being clean for six years, in a song called ‘Sober.’
