Aconversation that took place in room 31-135 (located directly below Stephen Paddock’s room) between a Mandalay Bay security officer and a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police SWAT officer sometime after 11 pm on the night of October 1, 2017, reveals that a shooter was on the 29th-floor at one point and may have exited the building via the stairwell before the officer could put out the information over the radio.
A dialogue between the two went as follows:
SWAT officer: “So we’re almost positive nothing on the twenty-ninth floor?”
Security officer: “I’m pretty sure somebody was on twenty-nine and then dripped down because somebody was coming out shooting on twenty-nine and then we were watching the stairwell and it looked like somebody came down to twenty-eight but I couldn’t get it [out] over the radio.”
