Mollie Tibbetts was a 20-year-old college student at the University of Iowa.

She was last seen at around 7:30 pm on July 18, 2018, after she went for a jog around a neighborhood in Brooklyn, Iowa — a little town of just 1,400 people. (See DCG’s post here.)

On August 21, police arrested Cristhian Rivera, 24, for first-degree murder after he led them to Mollie Tibbetts’ body in a field of corn stalks.

Rivera is an illegal border-crosser from Mexico and has been in the area for 4 to 7 years, illegally, working at a dairy farm under a different name, John Budd.

Rivera told police he stopped his car and ran alongside Tibbetts before she told him to leave her alone or she would call police. Rivera claimed he “blacked out” after that and later found Tibbetts’ body in the trunk of his car. He then hid her body among corn husks in a remote field. (Inside Edition)

President Trump took to Twitter after Mollie’s body was found:

Mollie Tibbetts, an incredible young woman, is now permanently separated from her family. We need the wall.

We on FOTM often exclaim “You can’t fix stupid” at some news about a useful idiot — a person who believes in and advocates for a cause, but is not fully aware of its goals or true nature, and is used cynically by the leaders of the cause.

Sadly, Mollie Tibbetts was a useful idiot. Even worse, her father, Rob Tibbetts, is an unregenerate “Progressive” who demonizes those whose political views differ from his.

To begin, Mollie Tibbetts was a leftist, through and through:

Mollie’s excuse may be that she was young and a college student who was thoroughly brainwashed and indoctrinated by Marxist professors.

But what is her father’s excuse?

In an op/ed in The Des Moines Register on September 1, 2018, Rob Tibbetts spoke out against the “heartless” and “despicable” people who use Mollie and her murder as a “pawn” to advance their “profoundly racist” views against illegal immigration:

They have instead chosen to callously distort and corrupt Mollie’s tragic death to advance a cause she vehemently opposed…views she believed were profoundly racist. The act grievously extends the crime that stole Mollie from our family and is…“heartless” and “despicable.”

[…] Mollie was nobody’s victim. Nor is she a pawn in others’ debate…. Please leave us out of your debate. Allow us to grieve in privacy and with dignity. At long last, show some decency. On behalf of my family and Mollie’s memory, I’m imploring you to stop.

Throughout this ordeal I’ve asked myself, “What would Mollie do?” As I write this, I am watching Sen. John McCain lie in state in the Capitol Rotunda…. Both Mollie and Senator McCain were good people….

The person who is accused of taking Mollie’s life is no more a reflection of the Hispanic community as white supremacists are of all white people. To suggest otherwise is a lie….

Rob Tibbetts, it is you who’s uttering a lie when you portray Americans who oppose illegal immigration as racists who are against all Hispanics. We don’t have problems with Hispanics and any people who immigrate to the U.S. legally. What part of the word “illegal” do you refuse to understand?

Then, without the courage of actually naming President Trump, Rob Tibbetts threw a hand grenade at the President, calling him hateful, inhumane, heartless, despicable, shameful, and a disgrace:
