President Donald Trump accused Twitter of removing many of his followers on the platform and intentionally constricting growth, in a Friday morning tweet.

Trump has long had an adversarial relationship with social media companies and accused them of bias against conservatives. The president accused social media companies of interfering in the 2018 midterm elections on behalf of Democrats, in a recent interview with The Daily Caller.

Twitter has removed many people from my account and, more importantly, they have seemingly done something that makes it much harder to join – they have stifled growth to a point where it is obvious to all. A few weeks ago it was a Rocket Ship, now it is a Blimp! Total Bias?

“I think they already have,” Trump said of social media companies interference in the 2018 presidential election. The president pivoted to 2016 saying, “I mean the true interference in the last election was that — if you look at all, virtually all of those companies are super liberal companies in favor of Hillary Clinton.”

Washington Post journalist Aaron Blake, citing Twittercounter, noted that Trump’s twitter account seems to have abnormally not gained a single follower in the last 4 days.
