“Biggest Sexual Offence Case In Norway’s History”

In what seems to be becoming almost a weekly news story, a man in Norway has been charged in a child sexual abuse case that involves 300 boys, according to prosecutors.  Prosecutors also say this is the “biggest sexual offense case in Norway’s history.”

All of the victims are boys and young men from Norway, Sweden and Denmark, according to NRK.

A comprehensive investigation that took nearly two years resulted in the 26-year-old football referee’s arrest.  Police believe that he abused and raped young boys, luring them offline through chat as he pretended to be a girl.

NRK reports (translation):

According to the accusation, the man has used fake girl name, published to be younger at several chat forums and on snapchat.

At the chat forums, he has initiated sexual conversations and allowed young boys to masturbate on film, to get light-skinned images in return.

According to the accusation, he also threatened several offenders to post the films on the internet if they did not continue to send them.

He must also have offered victims of money against sex.

The young football judge has received and saved at least 16,463 unique films, according to the indictment.

The Guardian adds:

The alleged assaults occurred between 2011 and 2016, when the man was arrested and detained after chatting, meeting and subsequently sexually abusing a youth who had previously worked with him as an assistant, Verdens Gang reported.

The suspect’s lawyer, Gunhild Laerum, told the public broadcaster NRK that his client, who is expected to face trial early next year, was cooperating with police and had “admitted the facts”. He was profoundly sorry for his actions but had yet to respond to each individual charge, Laerum said.

The state prosecutor, Guro Hansson Bull, told NRK the case was “the biggest of its kind in Norway to date”.

Only two of the alleged victims had come forward, he said. “Only one boy managed to tell his parents, and the mother of another found out. That says a lot about how hard it is for young people to talk about abuse of this kind.”

Norway’s attorney general, Christian Lundin, said the case was “incomparable in Norwegian legal history. Virtually all the alleged victims were “struggling” because “they have a huge sense of guilt”, he said.

And that right there is why this man should not be shown any mercy.  His crimes are beyond being able to sort out with his victims.  They are crimes against children that can never be undone.  However, this is Europe and there is no way Europe will render justice on behalf of the young boys he sexually assaulted.  They just are not going to put this man to death.

Instead, he might get a lengthy prison sentence, for which his victims, their family, friends and the rest of their countrymen will pay.

However, it’s quite possible that someone in prison will find out what this man has done and the same thing will happen to him that happened to former Subway spokesman Jared Fogel or he could end up being reported about such as the story about Steven D. Sandison, who murdered his cellmate, Theodore Dyer, after Dyer would not stop talking about raping a 9-year-old girl.
