It’s an indefensible decision, a deal hashed out in secret, with — this is outrageous — Smollett not even required to take ownership of his apparent hoax. Not even required to apologize for allegedly exploiting hate crime laws. And not even required to reimburse Chicago taxpayers for the enormous cost of this investigation.Chicagoans, Americans for that matter, will doubtless feel bamboozled by Foxx’s office, and used by Smollett.“This is a whitewash of justice,” Mayor Rahm Emanuel told reporters, with Johnson at his side. “Where is the accountability in the system? You cannot have, because of a person’s position, one set of rules apply to them and another set of rules apply to everybody else.”

Jussie Smollett claimed he was attacked by two men who struck him, hurled slurs at him and, in a nod to President Donald Trump, shouted, “This is MAGA country!” Later, Chicago police and prosecutors detailed plentiful evidence and told America it was all a hoax perpetrated by Smollett, an actor on the Chicago-filmed show “Empire,” to further his career.

The message that Chicago DA’s office sent stunned the nation yesterday. They agreed that Liberal actor Jussie Smollett was guilty of what he was charged with, and then announced that he would not be charged for hate crime hoax that attempted to portray Trump supporters as violent, homophobic racists. Smollett paid them $10,000, charges were dropped, then the details of the case sealed. It is really no different  than when Al Capone used his privilege and  was allowed to walk free for his various crimes back in the 1920’s.

In typical Liberal elitist fashion, after Jussie Smollett struck his crooked deal, he then rubbed it in your face by making this statement to the press:

“I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT NOT FOR A MOMENT WAS IT IN VAIN. I HAVE BEEN TRUTHFUL AND CONSISTENT ON EVERY LEVEL SINCE DAY ONE. I WOULD NOT BE MY MOTHER’S SON IF I WAS CAPABLE OF ONE DROP OF WHAT I’M ACCUSED OF. THIS HAS BEEN AN INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT TIME. HONESTLY ONE OF THE WORST OF MY ENTIRE LIFE. BUT I AM A MAN OF FAITH AND I AM A MAN THAT HAS KNOWLEDGE OF MY HISTORY AND I WOULD NOT BRING MY FAMILY, OUR LIVES OR THE MOVEMENT THROUGH A FIRE LIKE THIS, I JUST WOULDN’T. READ FULL STATEMENT

Shame on you, Chicago, for this travesty of justice. And thank you for reminding the nation why your city continues to deserve the reputation that it enjoys for corruption and partisan politics. This is what Obama and his minions used to refer to as ‘The Chicago Way‘, and it is evil.

Indefensible: With no good explanation, prosecutors give Jussie Smollett a pass

FROM CHICAGO TRIBUNE: It began as an alleged hate crime committed against TV actor Jussie Smollett on a downtown Chicago street at 2 a.m. It then careened into charges that Smollett staged the attack to benefit his career. And now this:

After State’s Attorney Kim Foxx makes errors of judgment that lead her to recuse herself, after Chicago detectives expend thousands of man hours doing meticulous work, after police Superintendent Eddie Johnson excoriates Smollett publicly for dragging the city’s name through the mud, after Foxx’s prosecutors take the case before a grand jury, after the grand jurors indict Smollett on 16 felony counts of disorderly conduct … after all that, Cook County prosecutors shock Chicagoans and the rest of the country on Tuesday with news that they’re dropping all charges against Smollett.

That is, Foxx’s office essentially says: Never mind. No big deal. Move along.
