For years, the nation has been under the threat of violence from the radical left.

More often than not, this simmering of political hatred has been fomented by the group known ironically as “Antifa” – short of anti-fascist.  Of course, their intent is to bully their political opponents into subservience on the left side of the aisle, making this claim of opposition to fascism baseless and pedantic.

As such, Antifa has come under mass scrutiny and criticism for the ways in which they conduct themselves, often violently, and in dramatic fashion.  A recent incident involving conservative journalist Andy Ngo is just one example of their crass and uncouth tactics.

Given the widespread propaganda network of the “resistance”, (and their friends in the infotainment industry), Antifa has largely gotten away with their anarchistic actions.  Law enforcement in cities such as Portland have been accused of “standing down” in cases of Antifa violence as well, illustrating just how dangerous the group can be.

Senator Ted Cruz believes that he has determined a possible avenue to hold Antifa accountable, however.

“[Antifa] engages in the conduct of fascists,” said Sen. Cruz. “They engage in violent protests, masked men and women engaging in physical violence — we saw recently the Rose City chapter of Antifa in Portland, Oregon, that was assaulting citizens … violently assaulted one journalist so severely that he was hospitalized for a brain hemorrhage.”

The journalist Cruz referred to was Andy Ngo, who is currently raising money for a lawsuitto bring Portland Antifa members to justice.

“Likewise this weekend, a Mr. Willem Van Spromsen, another Antifa terrorist attacked a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement center in Tacoma, Washington, igniting a vehicle and attempting to ignite a propane tank.”

“I am concerned that these are not incidences but rather this is a pattern, an organization that is engaged in masked, anonymous, violent terrorism.”

Cruz then implored the FBI to take a stand.

“The Bureau has significant tools to go after organizations, criminal enterprises, that use anonymity, that use masks to carry out violence — groups like the Klan, groups like, at times, the Mafia,” countered Sen. Cruz.

“I will today be sending a letter to you and the Department of Justice asking the Department to open a RICO investigation into Antifa, because I believe they are engaged in a similar coordinated effort. That letter will likewise focus on some local elected officials who have chosen to deny police protection to their citizens based on political ideology.”

A RICO case against Antifa has the potential to be wholly crippling to the organization, freezing funds and bringing the group’s actions to a grinding halt for several long, litigious years.
