New York Times Publishes New Uncorroborated Allegation Against Brett Kavanaugh by Former Classmate

by Matt Margolis, PJ Media:

If you think the left is done whining about Brett Kavanaugh, guess again. On Saturday evening, the New York Times published a rehash of the previous bogus allegations against now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, particularly the allegations made by Deborah Ramirez, and threw in a brand new one for good measure.

Ramirez had claimed Brett Kavanaugh exposed himself to her at a party at Yale. Despite the potentially dozens of witnesses that would have seen this occur, Ramirez’s story went uncorroborated throughout the entire confirmation process. “If I had done that, it would have been the talk of campus,” Kavanaugh said in an interview with Fox News’ Martha MacCallum.

Almost a year later, the New York Times is now curiously claiming it was. “At least seven people, including Ms. Ramirez’s mother, heard about the Yale incident long before Mr. Kavanaugh was a federal judge. Two of those people were classmates who learned of it just days after the party occurred, suggesting that it was discussed among students at the time.”

Soon after these allegations were made, I explained how Ramirez’s allegations were even weaker than Christine Blasey Ford’s. The first reason was that Ramirez herself “acknowledged that there are significant gaps in her memories” of the evening of the alleged incident and was “was reluctant to characterize Kavanaugh’s role in the alleged incident with certainty.” The New Yorker, which published the allegations, was also unable to find a single eyewitness, and none of the witnesses named by Ramirez as having been present for the incident corroborated her story—including Ramirez’s best friend.

The authors of the article, Robin Pogrebin, and Kate Kelly, failed to mention these details. The article was adapted from their forthcoming book, “The Education of Brett Kavanaugh: An Investigation.” The Ramirez story, which still lacks corroboration, isn’t even the most notable part of it. Pogrebin and Kelly reveal another allegation made against Kavanaugh that had not previously been made public.

We also uncovered a previously unreported story about Mr. Kavanaugh in his freshman year that echoes Ms. Ramirez’s allegation. A classmate, Max Stier, saw Mr. Kavanaugh with his pants down at a different drunken dorm party, where friends pushed his penis into the hand of a female student.

So, Max Stier claims he witnessed an incident involving another female student, but this female student isn’t quoted in the article, and neither are any other corroborating witnesses. According to the report, Steir “notified senators and the F.B.I. about this account, but the F.B.I. did not investigate and Mr. Stier has declined to discuss it publicly.” So, while this allegation is new to the public, it was known to the F.B.I. and the U.S. Senate during the confirmation process. In other words, the F.B.I. didn’t even find this story worthy of investigating, nor did any senator leak this information to the media or bring it up during the hearings. Keep in mind that Senator Kamala Harris read an anonymous letter that had no return address or other means of identification on it. Democrats were desperate to stop Kavanaugh’s nomination and any bogus allegation thrown at them was given its moment to be revealed one way or another.

So why are we hearing this now?

I think we all know the answer.

The left hasn’t given up. Democrats are still fishing for dirt on Kavanaugh. Shortly after the 2018 midterm elections, The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway reported that she overheard the now House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler discuss plans to impeach Justice Kavanaugh.
