from Voice Of Europe:

In just 48 hours, several violent incidents – including a knife murder, multiple mass car fires, gunfire, and a bombing – all played out in Sweden.

In Gávle, a man was stabbed to death at a mall on Thursday morning, Fria Tider reports. Police are currently investigating the murder.

In Helsingborg, Seven cars were  destroyed in two separate infernos that were started.

According to police, an unknown perpetrator is believed to have started the fires, Fria Tider reports.

To the northeast in Uppsala, police were called to a crime scene where witnesses had reported hearing gunfire near their apartment building.

After arriving at the scene, police confirmed that gunshots had indeed taken place. Bullet holes were found in walls of several apartments, while shell casings were also found, Expressen reports.

According to the site, the police report cited serious weapons crime, serious illegal threats, and the causing of dangers to others.

To the west in Skåne, a fire that engulfed three vehicles spread to a nearby government building.

Officials say that had firefighters not arrived quickly, it could have been a major disaster for the city.

According to a rescue service commander who was called to the scene, “The fire had spread to the skylight in the building. Had we arrived five minutes later, it could have gone really crazy,” Sydsvenskan reports.

“It could have been a fully developed fire in the roof construction, so we were lucky,” the rescue service commander added.

And to the south in Borås, a multi-family apartment building was rattled by a ‘heavy explosion’ that occurred late at night.

One resident who lives in the building told journalist from Borås Tidning, “The houses shook, it really felt strong. There are broken glass panes and a staircase that has been destroyed.”
