Julian Assange Claims US is Trying to ‘Kidnap’ Him During Extradition Hearing

Julian Assange and his site Wikileaks seem destined to cement their place in the pantheon of journalism’s evolution.

The idea was simple:  If you possessed information that would help to root out corruption and greed in politics, business, or diplomacy, you should be sharing that information with the world.  We, as a collective species, and not as partisan bickerers, owe it to each other to keep our elected officials and corporate behemoths in check.  Otherwise, this entire society that we have could become so lopsided as to leaves us no choice but chaos.

Assange’s Wikileaks was just the place for this sort of disinfecting disclosure, and has predictably drawn the ire of those whom wish to operate in the shadows, including prominent American politicians such as Hillary Clinton.

As the self-described journalists awaits his fate in an English court room, he is lashing out and describing the United States’ attempts to extradite him as “kidnapping”.

Julian Assange’s lawyer has accused the US of attempting to “kidnap and harm” the WikiLeaks founder, as he was denied a delay in his extradition.

Mark Summers QC claimed the US had “intruded” on conversations between Assange and his lawyers while he was in the Ecuadorian embassy and the intrusions included “hooded men breaking into offices”.

He reportedly told a hearing earlier this year that he feared he would be kidnapped by the US.

Mr Summers said today those fears are among “multiplicitous” issues that meant the case should be delayed for three months.

Wikileaks was instrumental in the electoral defeat suffered by career politician Hillary Clinton in 2016 after the site published a massive trove of emails recovered from within her campaign, detailing the candidate’s successful rigging of the Democratic primaries, her connections to a strange ritual called “spirit cooking”, and assorted other tidbits that allowed voters to paint a more complete picture of the former First Lady.
