James Le Mesurier, 48, founder of the controversial ‘search and rescue’ group the White Helmets, was confirmed dead on Monday, with further details of the incident as yet unknown. According to reports, the former British military intelligence officer, mercenary and entrepreneur was found dead on street below his apartment in Istanbul’s Beyoğlu district at roughly 4.30am. Speculation is rife as to a various conspiracies, with some British mainstream journalists already floating out loose talk of ‘state actor’ involvement (presumably they mean Syria or Russia), but Turkish authorities appear to be leaning towards suicide. Incredibly, these same mainstream establishment pundits are already blaming Le Mesurier’s on nefarious ‘Russian information campaigns’ and alternative media outlets for “acting as a prelude to murder.” More details to come.

UK Column News co-hosts Mike Robinson and Patrick Henningsen ask some questions, and also place this latest incident into a wider context of western foreign policy. Watch:
