For weeks now, we have been inundated with one side of the UkraineGate scandal, emanating from the left side of the aisle and purporting to nail the President of the United States to a wall.

The left believes that Donald Trump’s insistence on getting to the bottom of Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma’s ties to Hunter Biden, son of former Vice President Joe Biden who is currently running for President, does somehow not comport with the President’s sworn duty to root out corruption near and far.  They want you to believe that anti-corruption efforts abroad are halted when you’re the son of a possible political adversary, as if that nepotism doesn’t already give you a leg up against the competition.

Well, that’s just not a good enough answer for Senator Lindsey Graham, who this week announced that he would be beginning his own anti-corruption investigation in just that situation.

Sen. Lindsey Graham on Thursday requested State Department documents related to former Vice President Joe Biden’s communications with former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

Graham, R-S.C., sent a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo requesting the documents to assist in answering questions regarding allegations that Joe Biden was involved in the termination of Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin in order to end an investigation into natural gas company Burisma Holdings, where his son Hunter Biden served on the board.

The senator requested all documents and communications related to Joe Biden’s phone calls with Poroshenko on Feb. 11, 18 and 19, and March 22, 2016, citing media reports that they discussed previous demands to dismiss Shokin for alleged corruption before he was removed from office on March 29, 2016.

Graham was undoubtedly prompted to announce the investigation after repeated attempts to call Hunter Biden to the witness stand during the House’s impeachment inquiry were kiboshed by House Intel Chair Adam Schiff.
