Al-Shabaab jihadi militants have attacked a military base in Kenya, which houses US soldiers along with local troops, reports say.
The attack took place in Lamu County on Kenya’s northern coast, Reuters reported, citing a source and the militants themselves.
Photos circulating on social media allegedly show smoke billowing from the site.

"They have attacked Manda airstrip in Lamu, which is just next to the military camp that hosts military personnel from many countries including Kenya and the U.S. We are informed that fighting is still ongoing," the military source told Reuters.
There are no immediate reports of casualties.
