Billy, Rene and Walt were born male, but they all felt uncomfortable with their sex.

So they underwent sex reassignment surgery, believing it would end their distressing condition, which is known as gender dysphoria – feeling uncomfortable with your birth sex.

However, becoming female only brought problems, disappointment and regret.

It’s very important to note that two of the three people who underwent a sex change surgery in this documentary, had been sexually abused as children. Which reminded me of yet another case that I posted a while ago:

Debbie Karemer transitioned into a man, and then, later in life, “detransitioned” back into a woman. Karemer believes that the self-hatred she suffered almost all her life was a side-effect of being sexually abused by her own father when she was a teenager.
