National Guard Humvees with what appear to be LRAD crowd control devices on top were pictured in downtown Baltimore on Friday and triggered fears of martial law.
Nonetheless, Baltimore Mayor Jack Young insists the National Guard were only called in to “provide humanitarian assistance” to the public.

The Maryland National Guard said Friday evening that “there is not a threat of martial law.”
“If you see a [Maryland National Guard] Humvee on your street, know we are helping someone in need!”
To our neighbors, there is not a threat of martial law.
If you see a @MDNG Humvee on your street, know we are helping someone in need! Whether it's delivering much needed supplies or setting up tents for health screening stations, we are working for you!https://t.co/CoD3ycAQ39
