Weinstein began his prison sentence earlier this month.

Disgraced sex fiend Harvey Weinstein has tested positive for the Chinese coronavirus from within a New York prison, according to reporting from a local newspaper.

The disgraced movie mogul is already in poor health, having received a heart operation after his conviction before being sent to jail.

The former filmmaker has reportedly been moved into isolation after testing positive for the virus, and a spokesman is saying that he isn’t aware of the positive diagnosis. Weinstein has been described as ‘miserable’ during his stay at New York’s infamous Rikers Island jail, from which he’s now been sent to a correctional facility in upstate New York.

Some state and federal officials have expressed concern for inmates at prisons and jails in the midst of the coronavirus epidemic, who have no real means to isolate themselves from the viral disease. New York City is one of the municipalities that’s already releasing jail inmates to manage the prison system in the time of pandemic, but it’s hard to imagine that Weinstein would be let out on medical grounds. The #MeToo abuser was sentenced to 23 years in prison for his sex crimes convictions, a term that seems likely to be a life sentence for the 68-year old already in poor health.
