So What About Flynn

by Karl Denninger, Market Ticker:

Well, now it’s out.

General Flynn was persecuted by an FBI and DOJ who had no predicate — zero probable cause and no reasonable suspicion either to pursue him.

This makes the prosecution something straight out of Soviet Russia’s playbook — intended to bankrupt and imprison simply because people didn’t like him, along with who he worked for.

“I’m sorry” doesn’t cut it here, never mind the dismissal.  Those are necessary and now both have effectively happened, but are hardly sufficient.  The key question now becomes this: Does the rule of law still live in America or not?

Without the Rule of Law we literally have nothing when it comes to civil or political order.  Political or simply personal assassination becomes legitimate as a matter of ethics and morals, law be damned, because there is no other way to redress grievances or prospectively prevent someone from ruining you using the apparatus of the State over nothing more than mere political or personal animus.  The mere possibility of someone doing this to you now gives rise to the most-heinous acts not just of retaliation but intimidation before the fact, including acts such as cutting up a victim’s child, stuffing them in the oven and setting it to “CLEAN” or hanging people from freeway overpasses — the latter of which is done on a regular basis by drug cartels in Mexico.

What stops that sort of brutality and descent into chaos is the Constitution, specifically the 4th, 5th and 6th Amendments and the premise that all, from the least important to the most, are entitled to equal protection of same.

General Flynn was denied all of these protections and those acts were serious crimes and in fact might rise to the level of a Seditious Conspiracy.  They were not “mistakes.”

There remains only one question to answer today: Will those responsible — all of them, up to and including sitting Representatives, Senators, members of the FBI and even the former President of the United States, be held to account fully and impartially in all respects?

This question is not one of small-ball import nor can it be brushed aside.  It is in fact the question that bears on whether or not the United States, as a Constitutional Republic, exists to this day.  If those persons are not held to account in full, and to the fullest extent of the law, then there is exactly zero reason for any person in the US to expect anything other than bodies hanging from freeway overpasses.

What has been discovered, and the lengths to which the parties involved attempted to cover it up, is indeed that profound.
