Right on, Krystal. The liberals that I remember from the 70s and 80s, whatever their flaws, were generally antiwar/anti-imperialist (Southeast Asia, Central America), pro-poor and working-class (despite the limitations of their welfarism and business unionism), pro-civil liberties (e.g. sexual revolutionaries and pro-free speech even for the Skokie Nazis), and pro-equal rights for everyone regardless of color, gender, etc.  Today’s MSNBC-watching liberals have more in common with the Russia-hating, sedition-censoring, race-baiting “conservatives” of the 1950s and 1960s.
