Trump always struck me as the Red Tribe’s last stand in terms of trying to reclaim their former position of hegemony. In fact, one “conservative” commentator called the 2016 election a “Flight 93” event.  Recent events seem to have sealed the deal in terms of rising Blue Tribe hegemony.
