from Voice Of Europe:

US prosecutors have submitted a formal request to the British government that Prince Andrew be made available for questioning about his ties to the pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

According to a report from The Sun newspaper, the US Department of Justice filed a “mutual legal assistance” (MLA) request to the UK Home Office to force the disgraced Duke of York to answer questions pertaining Epstein’s sex trafficking network.

The request was supposedly filed sometime last month, and could make Prince Andrew provide testimony under oath.

MLA requests are used when assistance from another state is required to gather evidence related to the investigation or prosecution of criminal offenses.

Prince Andrew so far has denied any wrongdoing and has refused to talk to US prosecutors charged with investigating Jeffrey Epstein’s multinational sex trafficking network.

The only time Prince Andrew has spoken publicly about his ties to Epstein was last November in what ended up being a disastrous interview with BBC. The interview – where the Duke of attempted to “correct the record” – was so devastating to his public image that he stepped down from his “public duties” just after.

Despite Prince Andrew previously claiming that he was more than “willing to help” investigators in any way that he could, officials from the US have said that the prince hasn’t provided any assistance whatsoever.

In January of this year, US Attorney Geoffrey Berman said that FBI officials and federal prosecutors in New York contacted Prince Andrew’s lawyers and requested to interview.
