This is two blocks away from me. This story is still unfolding but my first thought is that this building is in an ideal location for someone to carry out a Charles Whitman-like sniper attack. No word yet on what kind of weapon he had. I’m curious to see if it was a sniper rifle.

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – Richmond Police officers take an armed suspect into custody, near the Robert E. Lee Monument Saturday.

Police said, in a tweet at 8:40 a.m., the suspect was found in a building, no shots were fired and officers were searching the building “for any other threats.”
