Kyle’s reply to Nathan Robinson in this is pretty good. The problem that I have with Robinson, Krystal, Saager, and Kyle alike is that they are all statist-reformists of one kind or another. Saager is an economic nationalist, Kyle and Krystal are social democrats, and Robinson is an outright socialist. I would consider myself to be a populist on a tactical level (“anarcho-populism” in the sense of “all enemies of the state against the state”) but in a way that is light years away from where any of these folks are. And my approach to economics is worlds apart from their “expand the welfare state/pass more regulations” outlook.
