Soros-funded St Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Garnder on Monday afternoon announced she filed felony charges against Mark and Patricia McCloskey, the couple seen defending their home from Black Lives Matter rioters who invaded their privately-owned neighborhood.

St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner has filed charges against a St. Louis couple who confronted protesters with guns in June, 5 On Your Side has learned.

Mark and Patricia McCloskey, the Central West End couple who confronted protesters June 28 with a rifle and a gun in Mayor Lyda Krewson’s neighborhood, have been charged with unlawful use of a weapon/flourishing.

The unlawful use of a weapon charge is a class E felony, which can carry a sentence of up to four years in prison and a fine of $10,000. Sources tell 5 On Your Side Gardner’s office will be issuing a summons for the couple to appear in court.

Gardner released the following (low resolution) statement on Twitter and described the unhinged mob as “peaceful” protesters:

“Today my office filed charges against Mark and Patricia McCloskey following an incident involving peaceful, unarmed protesters on June 28. It is illegal to wave weapons in a threatening manner at those participating in nonviolent protest, and while we are fortunate this situation did not escalate into deadly force, this type of conduct is unacceptable in St. Louis.

The decision to issue charges was made after a thorough investigation with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

I am open to recommending the McCloskey’s participate in one of my office’s diversion programs that are designed to reduce unnecessary involvement with the courts. I believe this would serve as a fair resolution in this manner.”

Governor Mike Parson refused to stand up for the McCloskeys at first but after being hounded by Tucker Carlson and others he came out and said he’s prepared to pardon the couple if they’re charged.
