It’s quite possible that “Medicare for All” and the UBI will be enacted eventually as class divisions continue to widen, and the ruling class is faced with popular rebellion and the rise of demagogic politicians from the left and right that make New Deal Democrat Sanders and Blue Dog Democrat Trump look like the centrists they actually are. “Medicare for All” and the UBI will be the means through which the ruling class buys off the reproletarianized working class and lumpenproletariat. In the past, the UBI was actually endorsed or flirted with by such hardline Communists as Milton Friedman and Richard Nixon.
