(Natural News) Twitter is apparently censoring accounts that tweet in support of famous Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, while also making additional moves to diminish that support.

The day before Rowling released her new book “Troubled Blood,” “#RIPJKRowling” began trending in Twitter’s top spot Monday, giving rise to “#IStandWithJKRowling.”
in memory of jk rowling. she ain’t dead, but she killed her own career by proudly hating trans people & no one would really miss her that much anyway #ripjkrowling pic.twitter.com/H6akxK0cVv

Take stuff down. Rub stuff out. Cancel, report, complain. Bully, harass, lie. But what you will find is that I and many, many many women are saying, and will not stop saying, … #IStandWithJKRowling

A verified blue checkmark user, Daniel Lismore, indicated that Twitter had indeed responded to Lismore’s reports to censor tweets displaying the “#IStandWithJKRowling” hashtag.
“Some advice for you all – over the past few weeks I reported 100s of tweets from the hashtags #IStandWithJKRowling #IStandWithMaya – twitter took it seriously. Report the hate. Report the false info. Report the trolls for harassment. Get the accounts suspended. #RIPJKRowling”

Additionally, other users have reported that Twitter has taken subtle action to diminish the hashtag’s popularity through their autofill feature. “The fact that when you type that hashtag it auto fills with #IStandWithJKRolling instead of #IStandWithJKRowling is illuminating,” tweeted one user. The move acts to dilute the numbers and stop the hashtag from trending.
Yeah, I've noticed that too. If there's a hashtag twitter believes to be unacceptable, they'll subtly change it in the autofill. Weirdest shit, cos people just went with 'rolling' anyway.
