Russia’s election is far more inclusive than American elections

Electoralism/Democratism

What are some of the issues being challenged in Russia? Is there an actual path to affect a change in those issues? As an example, the closest thing I’ve seen to democracy in my state of Oregon is the referendum system. People collect signatures from voters to put an issue on the ballot. The voters can then vote on the issue. An example would be assisted suicide for terminally ill people. Or marijuana decriminalization and eventually legalization. There have also been referendums on taxes for libraries and things like that. Many things are decided this way. Some of these were very big issues. Probably the biggest was the right to end life for the terminally ill. They made us vote twice on that one claiming the public wasn’t well informed. It still passed. Does Russia have processes like this? How does it work if they do?
