Anarcho-capitalism has been tried, and it was glorious. The Republic of Cospaia lasted for 386 years with no state and totally free markets. They were never invaded, never had a police force, and operated under voluntary private law. They prospered in peace and were just left alone for nearly 4 centuries, in spite of how we always hear that an ancap community would be invaded by larger states.
