by Shane Trejo, Big League Politics:

The wildman President of Argentina, Javier Milei, is fulfilling his promise to eliminate the worthless bureaucracy in his nation with plans to ax 70,000 government officials in order to free the markets and liberate the taxpayers.

In addition to cutting the government jobs, Milei is also freezing public projects, denying funds to certain provincial government entities, and eliminating over 200,000 social welfare plans.

“There’s a lot of blender,” Milei boasted during a speech at a forum in Buenos Aires. “There’s a lot more chainsaw.”

Milei is receiving pushback from government labor unions that are heavily invested in preserving the status quo. The institutions will strike back against Milei and attempt to stop his economic renaissance, but the iron-willed ideologue is not looking to back down from the fight.

“People have hope, they’re seeing the light at the end of the tunnel,” Milei said about his ongoing reforms.

Big League Politics has reported on Milei’s meteoric and unexpected rise to power, pushing radical libertarianism and a forceful rejection of the status quo:

After populist libertarian Javier Milei was elected president of Argentina on November 19, 2023, former United States President Donald Trump praised him for his electoral victory.

“Congratulations to Javier Milei on a great race for President of Argentina,” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform.

“The whole world was watching! I am very proud of you. You will turn your Country around and truly Make Argentina Great Again!”,  the former president continued.

Milei defeated his rival Minister of Economy Sergio Massa by a 56% to 44% margin. Prior to election day, Milei warned about potential voter fraud going down, especially by alluding to the first round of voting in October being filled with irregularities.

Integral parts of Milei’s campaign have focused on abolishing the Argentine Central Bank and downsizing the bureaucracy.

During his victory speech on November 19, Milei declared that the “reconstruction of Argentina begins today.”

“Argentina’s situation is critical. The changes our country needs are drastic. There is no room for gradualism, no room for lukewarm measures,” Milei declared, per a report by the AP.

Other conservative pundits praised Milei for his presidential victory.
