The Obvious Double Standard

I am not a racist! I do not support the views of Adolph Hitler, the KKK, etc. I don’t have a problem with interracial couples and I have been friends with people from races other than my own. Overall, I think the concept of a superior race is complete and utter nonsense. However, I do believe there is a double standard and that white people are being treated unfairly. Particularly, white, straight, so-called cis-gender males. I’m sure a lot of people from across the political spectrum and throughout a variety of races agree with me. Yet, very few people have the courage to speak up due to the fear of losing their livelihood and reputation. If a white person says something about it, they’re a racist. If a black person says something about it then they’re a sellout or a self-loathing black.

I work at a university and fairy recently they created a new office that is supposedly designed to combat racism. Apparently, a couple times some white nationalist groups posted flyers on campus which hasn’t happened in about 4 years. Also, occasionally a black student gets called the N-word by a white student and it is reported to the anti-racist office. However, I’m skeptical that this happens frequently since there are all kinds of fake racist incidents happening these days and many of them are conveniently on college campuses. Even if a black student occasionally gets called the N-word is that really a reason to create an entire department? Aren’t the students themselves grown up enough to deal with the issue on their own instead of having a bureaucracy do it for them? There’s also ads on small electronic billboards all over campus with phrases like, “Racism exists. See it. Report it.” It’s creepy in an Orwellian sort of way. The school is acting like it’s 1922. A couple years ago, I was working with a Hispanic, female coworker. We had to deal with a difficult and rude customer who happened to be a white male. After the difficult customer left, the Hispanic student I was working with said something along the lines of, “It’s always white people who act like that.” Another time I was working with a female Native American coworker. Once again, we were dealing with a difficult and rude white male, customer. Referring to the incident, she said something like “It’s only white males who act like that because no one has ever told them what to do.” I’m 100% positive that if I called the anti-racist department and reported these incidents, I wouldn’t be taken seriously. How much do you want to bet that I would get called a racist for doing it? Personally, I am uncomfortable around minorities at my job because if I say anything to piss them off even if it is not racist, then all they have to do is report me to the bureaucracy and in a heartbeat, I can be fired.

Outside of my own personal experiences, you don’t have to try very hard to see that there is a double standard. It’s everywhere! Just a couple weeks ago, there was a Harvard study that claimed that white people are more likely to view other races as animals. In fact, there have been all kinds of articles and studies that make similar claims that go back for the past ten years or so. I’m not an expert in statistics but I do understand them enough to know that data can be bias and it can be skewed to support your hypothesis. Plus, if it is coming from a major university, you know that the researchers are going where the funding is and bashing white people is very popular these days. Why is it that our modern mainstream society is okay with articles and studies like these? The public should be outraged! I can guarantee everyone would be up in arms if I published an article full of stats that claimed that blacks are dumber than whites. I don’t believe in stuff like that but that is beside the point.

Do you need more evidence of this double standard? Go to Tik Tok and you’ll see a ton of it. I saw a video on there where a black woman claimed that it is genetic that white people can’t feel empathy for other races. Another video was from an actual white person who said that whiteness needs to end. If I as a white person went on Tik Tok and said that black people lack empathy due to genetics the video would be taken down immediately. Not too long after the death of George Floyd my wife was listening to a podcast on eating disorders while we were cleaning our apartment. On this particular episode the white woman who was the host had a black woman on. Normally, the host censors numbers involving weight for the sole purpose of not triggering listeners who are predominately people with eating disorders. However, on this episode the black female guest demanded that her numbers not be censored because in her words, “A white woman is in no place to censor a black woman.” Even though censoring her had absolutely nothing to do with her race, the white host caved into her demands. And you know she resented it deep down inside but was too afraid to say anything because she would be labeled a racist if she did. A few weeks ago, I was watching a Swedish horror movie on Netflix called the Conference. The plot is about a team building conference that is held at a camp in the woods. There is one particular scene where an ad for a proposed municipality is shown to the team. There are only white people in the ad so everyone started mocking it and they referred to it as a Nazi ad. And once again folks we see this double standard! If it was only black people in the ad it would be considered inclusive but if it is only white people it is racist. I could keep going and I could you give 1000’s of examples but I don’t think that’s necessary because I’ve already proven my point and I’m sure you as a reader have seen examples like these yourself.

I am seriously fed up with this garbage! If we (white people) say anything, you hear, “Well they’re only venting after 400 years of oppression.” Apparently, I’m also supposed to feel white guilt. Dude! I wasn’t alive when slavery was legal. In fact, I wasn’t even alive during the 60’s civil rights movement. This is no different than me feeling guilty if my grandfather had picked on another kid in elementary school. I had nothing to do with any of these terrible things that happened in the past. Now it’s obvious that not all people of color think like this. There are plenty that agree with what I’m saying like John McWhorter and Thomas Sowell. I just hope more people speak up because the future is looking scary if we continue on this path. The current woke movement trumps the PC movement of the past and I am afraid it’s only going to get worse from here.
