Jonathan Bowden would have been 62 years old today. He was a painter, novelist, essayist, playwright, actor, and orator. He was also a friend. His ideas and personality have had a real and permanent impact on my approach to New Right metapolitics.

In his speech entitled “Western Civilization Bites Back,” Jonathan Bowden said, “Counter-Currents is, to my estimation, a sort of Right-wing university.” He wrote 35 original articles and reviews for Counter-Currents, both under his own name and under the pen name of John Michael McCloughlin. Since his death, we have also published a number of his lectures, lecture transcripts, interviews, and book excerpts.

The Jonathan Bowden Archive, built and maintained by Counter-Currents, currently hosts transcripts of all of Jonathan’s extant lectures, as well as audio and video (where available) recordings of them. We have also uploaded complete copies of all of Bowden’s narrative and documentary films (apart from one that cannot be located), including a new version of his documentary on the history of British sculpture with greatly improved images of the works he discusses as well as sound quality. This archive now also hosts copies of most of Bowden’s novels, as well as the issues of the journal he edited and wrote for in the early 1990s, The Revolutionary Conservative.

Jonathan’s life was all too short, but his legacy can live on forever. That’s in our hands now. Thank you for your help.
