NEW BOOK: How to Run Wars (Arrogance, Foolishness, and Ignorance Required

22-5-2024 < Attack the System 36 621 words

A new book from Independent Institute makes a dark mockery of America’s national security elite…

In this satirical and devastatingly incisive masterpiece, Christopher J. Coyne and Abigail Hall explain what’s really happening behind the scenes of America’s permanent warfare state.

Merciless in their penetrating analysis, Christopher J. Coyne and Abigail Hall have written the satirical portrait of America’s contemporary military-industrial complex.

Drawing inspiration from Bruce W. Knight’s 1936 classic How to Run a War, How to Run Wars: A Confidential Playbook for the National Security Elite is a must-read for anyone who would know the truth about America’s endless wars and the people who run them today.

Drawing back the curtain on perhaps the most deceitful and unethical activities of our Leviathan state, the authors explain how the national security elite manage to control the public narrative, quash dissent, secure lavish funds, and get America to pay the breathtakingly high cost of war, in both treasure and blood—all in the name of liberty and democracy.

By reading this book, the public will come to know the truth about what goes on behind the scenes in America’s war machine.

They will realize that the national security elites are not “elite” at all. They are not, as they would claim, all-powerful harbingers of peace…

…but hubristic frauds desperately trying to control a world that lies far beyond their power.

The good news is that the truth might just set us free.

It will certainly make you laugh.

Then—really angry.

Praise for How to Run Wars

“Ramp up the threat index to severe! Pursue your Orwellian dream of selling war as peace! In this satirical gem, Coyne and Hall skewer the would-be warmongers among us.”
W. J. Astore, Lt. Col., USAF (Ret.), author, Hindenburg: Icon of German Militarism

“An essential and timely contribution to the debate on U.S. foreign policy.
Michael C. Munger, professor of political science, Duke University; author, Is Capitalism Sustainable?

How to Run Wars works by saying the quiet part out loud. It’s a Babylon Bee for PhDs, a deeply layered onion of dark humor and satirical insight into the destruction of America by the very people charged with protecting it. Be prepared to laugh, and cry.”
Robert E. Wright, lecturer in economics, Central Michigan University
